Context of the lesson and prior learning:
This will be their first lesson of Shakespeare so it is important to allow them to access the language as that will be their biggest barrier and fear
Learning Objectives: (Skills/Knowledge)
• To understand Shakespeare
• To understand the story of Romeo and Juliet
• to explore the story of Romeo and Juliet whilst highlighting the main themes

This is a short story we has commissioned by a local author about Summer Adventure . The story has been matched with some images and would work well for a short read. The story has a moral embedded into it and this is revealed at the end.
This short story called 'A Modern Summer Adventure ’ can be used for comprehension activity or to provoke discussion about this topic.
